Upon moving to Texas, Martin studied privately under Matthew Alexander for five years and continued to attend his High School Orchestra program, incorporating piano into his curriculum. During this time he explored various works by Bach and perfected La Folia by Corelli.
On moving to Spain at the age of seventeen, Martin studied under Ema Alexeeva before embarking on his degree in Centro Integrado Padre Antonio Soler in El Escorial (Madrid). At this time Martin renewed his interest in the piano, studying under Elisabeth Jaszauty and Ldia Galasov . He also began learning to play the guitar.
After graduation Martin studied for two more years under Ema Alexeeva learning to play, amongst other pieces, the first movement of Khachaturian's violin concerto, which gained him a position at the Superior Conservatory in Oviedo. It was at this time that Martin started offering private tuition in both music and English.
On returning to Madrid, Martin joined the Escuela de Musica Creativa and studied jazz and related styles such as blues, rock, funk, soul, and pop (on the violin).
It was in Madrid that Martin established himself as a music teacher, teaching piano and violin, and as an English teacher (attaining his Cambridge CELTA certification in 2016).
He relocated to the Costa Blanca at the end of 2019.
“ My daughters started violin lessons with Martin when they were aged five and seven. He made the lessons really engaging and they quickly gained in confidence and ability. We’re delighted at how easy he made it for them. . ”
